New Biggenden homicide investigation appeal

Detectives have released an image of a vehicle in an appeal for information in relation to a homicide investigation at Biggenden.

At approximately 12.20pm on December 20 police were called to a shed fire at a Fenwicks Road property.

Officers located 54-year-old Todd Mooney and his 10-year-old daughter Kirra deceased inside.

A crime scene was declared and following forensic examinations it is alleged the fire was deliberately lit.

Following extensive investigations detectives charged a 24-year-old Maryborough woman with two counts of murder and one count of arson.

Her matter was heard in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 7, where she was remanded in custody for the matter to return to court on January 9.

As part of ongoing investigations police have released an image of a white Holden Barina wagon with a distinctive solar panel on the roof.

Investigators appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle between 10am and 2pm between Biggenden and Bam Bam Springs to come forward.
