A man who allegedly stabbed his Uncle to death in Kilkivan last month has been charged with murder.
Police were called to a Running Creek Road property in Kilkivan, west of Gympie, on April 12 following reports of a disturbance.
A 55 year-old man died of stab wounds at the property he shared with his nephew.
The 42-year-old Kilkivan man allegedly threatened officers with a knife and was shot by police.
He remains in hospital for treatment of his injuries.
He has been charged with one count each of murder and serious assault police officer while armed with a weapon.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 26.
The incident is continuing to be investigated by the Ethical Standards Command with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
