A Sunshine Coast helicopter firefighting company is working closely with locals in Greece to help protect properties and land from the bush fires ravaging the country.
Cooroy-based McDermott Aviation has nine water bombing choppers in Greece and this week helped some local residents battling a fire with a low pressure garden hose.
They’d been trying to stop the fire from jumping the road when a McDermott crew spotted them from the air and dumped a long line of water to buy them time.
