23032 Olympic logo revealed

The Sunshine Coast’s 2032 Olympic brand and logo has been unveiled at a special ceremony attended by around 130 people.

Sunshine Coast 2032 is a community led and driven team aiming to ensure the region maximises opportunities in the lead-up to, during and after the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The brand was developed by local designer Ben Mathieson in consultation with First Nations man Kerry Neill.

It represents a meeting and gathering place.

It signifies people coming together, inclusion, participation, partnerships, involvement, embracement, movement, community, a journey, culture, owners of our land, encompassing the Sunshine Coast as a region.

It’s about illuminating and leveraging the best for the community, driven by the needs and aspirations of our unique region.

The hands on the logo represent diversity, coming together for the betterment of our community, inclusion, movement, accessibility, equity, involvement, volunteering.

The ten inside circles represent each year leading up to 2032 with the six colours representing the six committees.

The centrepiece is the Bunya tree which is significant to the Traditional Custodians of the land.

Speaking at the event, the Chair of Sunshine Coast 2032 Roz White, said the group is setting the foundations for the future.

“We are all very passionate about the opportunities the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will bring to our region and the legacy it will create for generations to come,” Ms White said.

“Our young people will be the ones living with decisions that are made now, so it’s important we put a spotlight on them and ensure they are involved in shaping the future they will be living in,” she said.
