Rubbish fire causing smoke hazard in Caboolture

Multiple crews are battling a rubbish fire in Caboolture.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services issued an Advice level warning at 5.53pm on Tuesday, warning residents of smoke in the area.

A QFES spokesperson says one unit remained on the scene off Simpson Road overnight, with two more arriving around 4.00 this morning to help extinguish the flames.

Smoke is currently affecting Caboolture, Toorbul, Meldale, Ningi, and surrounding areas.

Motorist are being told to avoid driving through smoke where possible, and be aware of possible road closures and firefighters working in the area.

Reduced air quality may cause health impacts for some people.

Residents, especially anyone with breathing difficulties, are warned to stay indoors, close windows and doors and keep any respiratory medication close by.
