The woman, believed to be a 26-year-old from Maryborough, is described as Caucasian in appearance, with blonde hair with brown regrowth, dark-coloured eyes, and distinctive minor tattoos on both sides of her face, near her eyes.

The pair then allegedly assaulted the driver of a red Mitsubishi Outlander, before stealing the SUV and taking off northbound on the Bruce Highway.

Police allege the two offenders threatened the three drivers with a firearm during the incidents.

At 11:15am, police received information the Outlander had crashed into trees near a property on Old Caloundra Road in Glenview, on the Sunshine Coast, and a man and woman were seen fleeing on foot.
