A 40-year-old man has been rushed to hospital with a serious head injury, after an alleged assault at the Sunshine Plaza.
Police and paramedics were called to a disturbance at the Maroochydore shopping centre around 4.30 yesterday afternoon.
They say a Nambour man was punched following an altercation, falling back and striking his head.

He was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
A QPS spokesperson says police spoke to a teenage boy at the scene, but no charges had been laid as of 5am Monday.
Investigations are ongoing.
