The Gympie Music Muster has secured $100, 000 per year over the next four years in a funding deal with the State Government.

The multi-year funding provides the Muster with vital financial certainty to continue celebrating Australian music, supporting local jobs, and driving significant economic and community benefits across the Gympie region.

Member for Gympie Tony Perrett welcomed the announcement calling it a well deserved investment in one of regional Australia’s most celebrated festivals.

“The Gympie Music Muster is more than a festival – it’s part of our regional identity, ” Mr Perrett said.

“It showcases the best of country music and regional culture, brings in tens of thousands of visitors, and puts millions into the local economy – all while supporting grassroots charities and community groups.”

The Gympie Music Muster is a major economic driver for the region.

In recent years, the event injected up to $5 million directly into the local economy.

“The economic boost generated by the Muster flows directly through local motels, cafes, pubs, and shops – supporting jobs and strengthening businesses across our region.

This funding will ensure that impact continues for years to come,” Mr Perrett said.

Greg Cavanagh, CEO of the Gympie Music Muster, expressed gratitude for the new funding, which will help ensure the festival continues to back Australian artists and support the local arts community.

“We’re deeply grateful to Arts Queensland for their support through the Organisations Fund,” Mr Cavanagh said.

“This first-time funding will ensure the Muster continues to champion Aussie artists, celebrating culture, and creating employment opportunities for more than 700 arts workers each year,” he said.

“Thanks to this support, the Muster can continue backing emerging talent while showcasing over 140 incredible acts annually. This fuels dreams, livelihoods, and legacies”, he added.
