Fugitives arrested over alleged assaults and armed robbery

A man and woman who spent three days on the run after alleged assaults and an armed robbery at Morayfield are due in court today.

The 35-year-old Granville man and 26 year-old Maryborough woman were arrested in Maryborough yesterday.

It’s alleged the couple assaulted three drivers at a service station on the Bruce Highway at Morayfield on Sunday morning before stealing an SUV at gunpoint.

They crashed the Mitsubishi Outlander at Glenview on the Sunshine Coast later in the day and fled on foot, sparking an emergency lock down of the area.

The man has been charged with two counts of robbery armed and in company, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, robbery used personal violence and in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and serious assault person over 60.
