Police have charged a 35-year-old man after a pipe bomb exploded at Glastonbury, near Gympie last night.
It’s alleged just before 6pm, police were called to the state forest near the intersection of Glastonbury Creek Road and Gympie-Woolooga Road after the pipe bomb exploded causing a fire.
Police allege a man was seen leaving the scene.
The fire was extinguished before police arrived and there were no reported injuries.
The Deception Bay man was arrested at a Widgee address and charged with one count each of possessing a restricted weapon (pipe bomb) and dangerous conduct with a weapon (pipe bomb).
He is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court today.
