Extreme fire danger for Qld south-east coast

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a fire weather warning for the south-east coast region which includes Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Gympie.

The Bureau is forecasting an extreme fire danger for the region for the rest of today.

The Queensland Fire Department is advising us to refer to our Bushfire Survival Plans and monitor the fire and weather situation through your local radio station.

The forecast is for hot and dry conditions, combined with fresh to locally strong and gusty westerly winds will result in extreme fire danger over the Southeast Coast.

There is a chance of a thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening.

A milder, humid, gusty south to southeast wind change is expected tonight.

There is currently a total fire ban across our area.
