Four weapons have been seized by police as part of a wanding operation across the Sunshine Coast.
Operation X-Ray Sorcerer began on September 6, and has seen multiple offenders intercepted in public places during the school holidays.
It included a 14-year-old boy from Buddina, who was allegedly found carrying a pocketknife in Caloundra.
He was later dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
A 42-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were also allegedly busted with various drugs and and a knife in Mooloolaba on September 11.
Both are set to face court next month.
A 14-year-old boy was also allegedly caught with an edged weapon, scissors and two grams of cannabis in Maroochydore.
He has also been dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
Detective Inspector Chris Toohey says these are largely positive results.
“Though we’re disappointed to have found three people with weapons, I’m pleased that we were about to take those weapons off the streets, and it’s positive to see more weapons weren’t located.”
“Our engagement with young people and the wider community during our conversations on the street has been positive and I’m confident the majority of people are doing the right thing,” he says.
