Aussie Star Wars fans, get ready.. The Mandalorian & Grogu is officially heading to the big screen, with the first trailer and poster now revealed by Lucasfilm and Disney.
From Streaming to Cinemas
Originally slated as The Mandalorian Season 4, the story has now been reworked into a full-length feature film following Hollywood’s 2023 industry strikes. The film marks the first Star Wars theatrical release since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
Familiar Faces and Newcomers
Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, joined by Sigourney Weaver as Ward, a former Rebel Alliance officer now commanding the Adelphi Rangers. Jeremy Allen White plays Rotta the Hutt—Jabba’s son—while Jonny Coyne steps in as a warlord controlling remnants of the Empire.

A Galaxy of Cameos
Expect appearances from Star Wars Rebels characters, including fan-favourite Garazeb ‘Zeb’ Orrelios, along with members of Babu Frik’s mischievous Anzellan species. The film also debuts a new version of Din’s Razor Crest ship.

When to Watch in Australia
Filmed in California and partially shot for IMAX, The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to release in Australian cinemas on 22 May 2026, likely coinciding with the U.S. release date.
