Police have found what’s believed to be human remains as they continue investigations into the suspicious disappearance of a 56-year-old Brisbane man last month.

Andrew Burow was last seen at Kelvin Grove on August 21 and this week police received a tip off via Crimestoppers about a fire being near Blackbutt around 4am on 26 August.

This information led to crime scenes being established yesterday along Brooklands-Pimpimbudgee Road at Maidenwell and in bushland along the D’Aguilar Highway near Moore.

The remains, which were discovered at the Maidenwell crime scene, are yet to be formally identified, however investigators are in contact with the family of Mr Burow.

A Sippy Downs man and a North Lakes man were last week charged with torturing him and crime scenes were earlier established at Bli Bli, Pomona and Lake MacDonald.

Investigators continue to seek information about three seized vehicles of interest which are a black 2010 BMW X3 bearing Queensland registration 802NX4, a black 2011 Ford Ranger utility bearing false Queensland registration 257LX8 and a silver 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander wagon with Queensland registration 385KU2.

Anyone who may have seen the vehicles, including anyone with relevant footage or dashcam of the vehicles in the Brisbane, Ipswich, Yarraman, Blackbutt and Sunshine Coast areas between Thursday 21 August and Tuesday 26 August, are urged to contact police.

Anyone with information that may assist investigations into Andrew’s suspicious disappearance is urged to contact police immediately.
