Gympie’s Kaden Groves won the penultimate stage of the Tour de France on the weekend.
26 year-old Groves broke away from the peleton, 16km from the end of the 20th stage in northern France, to win yesterday morning.
He finished 54 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

An emotional Groves was in tears after the stage and said “it’s an incredible feeling” to win.
He has now won stages at all three of cycling’s grand tours…two at the Giro d’Italia and seven at the Spanish Vuelta.
The race finished in Paris earlier this morning….Slovenian Tadej Pogačar winning the Tour for the fourth time.
