NSW man charged with stabbing woman
A man who allegedly stabbed a woman in the back during a domestic-related incident in regional NSW has been charged.
Emergency services responded to reports a woman had been injured in a car park at Forster on the Mid North Coast about 7.30pm on Friday.
It will be alleged the 21-year-old woman was parked with a friend when the man - who is known to the woman - confronted her and stabbed her in the back.
The 22-year-old female friend went to the woman's aid, and it is alleged the man then threatened her with the knife and took her mobile phone.
The woman was treated for two stab wounds and later airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
A 31-year-old man was arrested at a home in Forster at about 1.30am on Saturday.
The man has been charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and two counts of contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).
He was refused bail and is due to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Sunday.
