Former Sunshine Coast Swimming Coach Scott Volkers will stand trial on historical child sex offences.
He faced the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday where he heard his matter would be heard by a jury in a higher court according to News Corp.
The publication reported that he did not enter a plea to allegations of indecently dealing with two girls under the age of 16 in the 1980s in the northern Brisbane suburbs of Aspley and Bald Hills.
Mr Volkers coached Australian stars Susie O'Neill and Samantha Riley, although there is no suggestion that either is a victim.
Volkers was originally charged in 2002 but the charges were dropped until the Queensland’s child abuse and sexual crime group decided to re-prosecute the case following the Royal Commission into Child Sex Abuse.
Volkers will stand trial in the Brisbane District Court, no date has been set at this stage.
