More COVID-19 testing sites open

As droves of people rush to get tested for coronavirus amid the latest scare on the Sunshine Coast, more testing facilities are opening up to keep up with demand.

Queues have been growing outside the clinic at Caloundra Hospital last night and throughout today after it was revealed a woman and her husband tested positive to COVID-19 after breaching Victoria's lockdown to visit family in Caloundra. 

The following locations are offering tests with no out-of-pocket costs and no referral needed. People just need to take their Medicare card.

  • A drive through pop-up testing clinic in the car park at Caloundra Shopping Centre until Monday behind My Car (Kmart Tyre & Auto). It is open from 8am until 5pm tomorrow and Monday, 9am until 1pm Saturday, and TBA on Sunday. 
  • Drive-through COVID testing at Caloundra Aerodrome. Entrance via Pathfinder Drive, Caloundra. Open 7.00am-5pm tomorrow (Friday) and from 7.00am-3pm over the weekend.
  • Medlab Pathology, Cnr Gosling St, Caloundra Shopping Centre. Open until 5pm today and open again tomorrow.
  • S and N Pathology Millieu Place Kawana Sports Fields West, Warana. Open tomorrow.
  • QML Pathology 186 Wises Rd, Maroochydore. Open tomorrow.
  • 4cyte Pathology Pop up sites at Moffat Beach and Maroochydore. Open tomorrow.
