Planned burn: Smoke warning near Peregian Beach
A planned burn near Peregian Beach will get underway tomorrow as part of a bushfire management plan.
The burn will begin at a section of Lake Weyba Bushland Reserve Network, between 10am and 7pm, with a 20 hectare section of council land and 80 hectare section of state government land being maintained.
The reserve will be closed during the operation.
To reduce the impact on animals, a fauna corridor will be maintained for wildlife.
Smoke will blanket some areas and could impact residents and motorists, near Lake Weyna.
Roads that might be impacted include Lakewood Drive, Emu Mountain Road, Eumarella Road, Charlotte Drive, Lake Weyba Drive and Murdering Creek Road.
Any residents affected by smoke are advised to close windows and doors, utilise air-conditioning and keep respiratory medication close at hand. Seek medical advice if you are susceptible to smoke impacts.
