Officer suspended after drug possession charge
A male senior constable with the Queensland Police Service has been suspended from duty after being charged with possessing a dangerous drug.
A Queensland Police spokesperson says the 30 year old from the central policing region (Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay Burnett, Capricornia, Mackay) is set to face Townsville Magistrates court next month.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct,” the spokesperson says.
“This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
