Storm coach takes aim at online trolls
Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has slammed social media trolls who sent death threats to the family of former Sunshine Coast Falcons player Curtis Scott.
The Raiders star had police assault charges against him dropped in a Sydney court last week, following his arrest on Australia Day.
Police bodycam vision showed Scott lying unconscious under a tree, with officers proceeding to handcuff, pepper spray and taser the 22-year-old.
Scott revealed his family had been on the receiving end of online death threats since his arrest in January.
Bellamy, who coached Scott during his stint at the Storm, described the online abuse as 'wrong'.
“When your family gets thrown into it, that’s when it’s really wrong.
“We shouldn’t have to put up with that with players, but family shouldn’t have to put up with that, any sort of family," Bellamy said.
