Man entrapped after serious Bruce Highway crash
A man has been airlifted to the Sunshine Coast Universtity Hospital following a serious crash on the Bruce Highway.
Emergency crews were called to the northbound lanes just before the Caloundra turnoff around 10.20pm, to reports a car had crashed into a parked truck.
They found a man in his 30s entrapped in his vehicle.
He had to be freed by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, before he could be flown to SCUH with significant leg injuries and a head injury.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the patient was transported in a serious but stable condition.
Police closed the northbound lanes of the highway while emergency services responded to the incident.
They reopened around 1.30am.
