Coast residents shiver through chilly winter morning
The winter chill has officially kicked in for the Sunshine and Cooloola Coasts, with temperatures set to fall to single digits over the next few mornings.
Locals woke up to 6.2°C temps in Gympie on Tuesday morning, but it felt like 4.3°C according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
There was a similar "feel-like" temperature at the Sunshine Coast Airport, around 5°C, despite the actual temp sitting at 8.5°C at 5.30am.
Minimums were expected to stay below 10°C until the weekend.
Meteorologist Rosa Hoff said the cold air is coming up from the southern states.
"This air is slowly moving north, it'll be affecting most inland areas and spreading to coastal areas."
A strong wind warning is also in place for the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay Waters.
