Coronavirus Case Being Treated On The Sunshine Coast
A 57-year-old woman has been admitted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, with a confirmed case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Queensland Health has confirmed the woman was transferred to the facility and placed into isolation on Monday after her diagnoses.
She remains in a stable condition.
The woman was a passenger onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship off the coast of Japan, and was among the group evacuated to Darwin last week.
A Queensland Health spokesperson says the community can be assured "whether it’s measles, influenza or coronavirus, our hospitals have strong measures in place to stop the spread of any illness".
SCUH continues to operate as normal.
