Motorist Rescued From Flooded Road, Yandina
A motorist has been rescued from floodwaters on the Sunshine Coast overnight.
A woman phoned Triple Zero and said she had driven into floodwaters on North Yandina Arm Road.
She had around 10cm of water in her car at the time.
Police determined that there was around two foot of water over the road when they got there.
Officers phoned the State Emergency Service. Volunteers removed the woman from the vehicle and then used their SES vehicle to drag the vehicle out of the floodwaters.
The road was closed for the duration of the rescue.
Four teams of Firefighters were also called but their services weren't required.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, 74mm of rain has landed in Nambour since 9:00AM on Thursday. 60mm has been recorded at Yandina in 24 hours.
Two separate Severe Weather Warnings and Flood Warnings were issued overnight.
