BREAKING | Cooroibah Bushfires Evacuations & Road Closures
UPDATED | Under direction from QPS, more evacuation zones have been declared due to the current Cooroibah bushfires.
The evacuation zone for the Cooroibah bushfire has now been extended to include Tewantin. Residents are advised to leave immediately with a priority on Old Tewantin area.
Noosa Banks estate, Daintree Estate, Forest Links estate (Yellowwood Close, Blackbutt, Kurrajong) were also added to the Evacuation Zone at 4.45pm this evening.
Horses that were evacuated to the Tewantin Pony Club now need to be relocated. Horses will need to be relocated to either Cooroy Pony Club or Pomona Showgrounds. If residents cannot get back to Tewantin Pony Club to relocate their horses, council will relocate on their behalf.
EVACUATION CENTRES: Four local evacuation centres have been established: Girraween Sports Complex, Cooroy Library, Noosa Leisure Centre and The J Noosa are open.
51 appliances on currently on the scene 20 are on the way. Eight aircraft ceased water bombing at dusk.

EARLIER | Due to bushfires breaking containment lines this afternoon, evacuations are in place for a large number of residents in Cooroibah.
Residents to the north and east of McKinnon Drive and south of Coolathin Creek in Cooroibah including the below list of streets are advised to evacuate immediately:
Amaroo Pl, Lake Cooroibah Road, Exford Court, Murchison Lane, Lakeside Dr, Jirrima Cres, Lancaster Lane, Edington Dr, Adensfield Ct, Devonstone Dr, Craigslea Ct, Woodhaven Way, Dela Ct, Green Gate Road, Lakeway Dr, Lakeside Dr, Sunset Way, Morning Glory Dr, Pines Ave, Cassia Ave, Glenridge Dr, Silverdale Ct, Misty Ln, Ramsey Lane, Coolah Pl, Coralfern Drive, Morning Dew Ct, Illawarra Dr, Silverwood Dr, Bloodwood Pl, Bushranger Ct, Carriage Way, Stockwhip Ct, Coach Ct, Tamarine Ct, Harmony Ct, Yatama Pl, Sealys Road, Cream Box Ct, Turpentine Road, Tronson Road, Goshawk Lne, Riverpark Dr, Eulama St, Bundoora St, Boreen St, Cootharaba St.
Residents of these areas will not be able to access their homes until further notice.
EVACUATION CENTRES: Two evacuation centres have been opened: Cooroy Library and Noosa Leisure Centre are open. Horses can be taken to Tewantin Pony Club or Pomona Showgrounds.
STREET CLOSURES: McKinnon Drive, Butler Street and Louis Bazzo Drive are now closed. Motorists are advised to AVOID these areas and do not attempt to access these streets (currently traffic congestion in these areas).
