Update On Actventure Site

The owners of a plot of land that has stood empty on the side of Steve Irwin Way for some time, have announced plans to build the best resort complex in Australia.

According to Actventure's Facebook page, the development will be a $AUD450m integrated lifestyle, tourist and active theme park development and the only major integrated tourism resort on the Sunshine Coast.

"Actventure will be the only destination in the world that will combine a major waterpark, hotel and conference facilities, retail, world class surf wave pool, action sports and other modern leisure activities.

"Stage 1 of the project which combines the waterpark, Actventure tower, and the Cove retail has an estimated construction cost of $AUD150m and is forecasted to attract up to 1 million visitors annually" according to their Facebook page.

We reached out to Sanad Capital earlier in 2019 for an update on where the project is at, as there has been no sign of work at the location.

On Monday, Sanad Capital announced that they are pushing forward with plans to develop what will be known as ‘Invigorate Resort’.  The plan is to open the resort ahead of the completion of Actventure.

A news release posted on their website states, "Escape the ordinary at this brand new resort which is set to encompass a mixture of family-friendly villas, a day-spa, restaurants, cafes + sports bar, open air cinema, sports club, tennis and basketball courts, swimming pool, water-based activities including stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, arcade and ninja indoor play centre plus a waterpark featuring a number of exhilarating and refreshing rides and activities for all ages, which will all be open to both resort patrons and the public".

"Invigorate Resort will offer ‘something different’ for holiday seekers and locals to the Sunshine Coast.  A destination to explore, eat, drink, play, relax and stay that will cater not only to families but also to couples seeking relaxation; that is within a 30-minute drive some of the Sunshine Coast’s best offerings including Australia Zoo, Aussie World, Mooloolaba Beach, Buderim Falls, Sunshine Plaza, Eumundi Markets, Brouhaha Brewery, Flamehill Vineyard, Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, Montville and many more.

"Tourism on the Sunshine Coast is continuing to skyrocket, with new 2019 statistics reporting that more visitors stayed and spent more money on the coast than ever before.

Sanad Capital Managing Director Mr Bradley P. Sutherland said, “Invigorate Resort will be a favourable compliment to the overall development of our 25ha site, providing a much-needed new tourist destination to energize the holiday offerings on the Sunshine Coast, and it will also be open to the public in advance of Actventure”.

Sanad Capital are currently finalising the plans for Invigorate Resort and the water park with their team of Consultants before lodging the Development Application to Sunshine Coast Council which is expected to happen this month.

A check of Sanad Capital's various social media sites indicates they are not active.  There have been no updates on Actventure's Facebook page since May 2018.  It is the same story on Sanad Capital's Facebook and Twitter pages.  There have been no posts on their Instagram page since March 2018.
