Storms bring good rain and more likely today

Thunderstorms have dumped widespread rain across much of our region.

The imposing looking storms moved into the region from late yesterday afternoon and luckily didn’t cause any reported damage.

Kin Kin received the most rain with 83 millimetres followed by Boreen Point with 50, Pomona 35 and Gympie 31.

Nambour received 28mm while further south, 20mm fell at the Glasshouse Mountains, 27 in Maleny and 14 in Caboolture.

The weather bureau is predicting more storms from early afternoon today with some possibly severe cells sweeping across the region from Caboolture through to Gympie.
