There are still more than 2300 homes and businesses without power across our region due to Monday’s storms.
1228 of those are in Moreton, 823 in Noosa Council area, 291 on the Sunshine Coast and 40 in the Gympie region.
An Energex spokesman says the goal is to have power supply available by this evening for all customers who can safely be reconnected.
He said there are some customers who have had damage to their properties and will need to get a licensed electrical contractor to inspect and repair before we can put their power back on.
“There have been hundreds of defect notices issued in the past few days as crews have been working through the restoration.
“Any customers who don’t have power but can see their neighbour does or that there is power in the street should call 13 62 62 to report it so we can advise crews in that area and they can do a check on why,” he said.
