Gympie police are appealing to the public for information about an assault in Gympie last Friday.
At approximately 11.20pm last Friday night, police allege a 40-year-old man suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of an unprovoked assault on Mary Street, near Memorial Lane.
Detectives from Gympie CIB have charged a 21-year-old Gympie man with grievous bodily harm.

He is due to next appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on February 23, 2026.
Police are seeking any witnesses, including a number of people who are believed to have helped the victim, to come forward.
