A man’s been arrested after allegedly holding up a grocery store at Sippy Downs, while wearing a novelty mask.
Police allege the man entered the store on Scholars Drive around 7pm on Monday, wearing a halloween-style mask, before pulling a knife on two workers and demanding cash.
The staff complied and were not physically injured during the ordeal.
He fled the scene on an e-scooter, with police calling in a helicopter and the dog squad to help track him down.
They say they found the man in nearby bushland off Varsity Drive some time later and took him into custody.
Police allege he lashed out and struck a number of officers during the arrest.
They sustained minor injuries that didn’t require hospitalisation.
A 23-year-old Sippy Downs man has since been charged with one count each of armed robbery and serious assault police.
He was denied police bail and will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, Tuesday November 8.
