Police have located a Ford Ranger suspected of being involved in a fatal crash on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary earlier this week.
Around 10.30pm on Tuesday a white Isuzu truck, reportedly being followed or chased in the wrong direction along the northbound lanes of the highway, collided with a car.
The driver of the car, a 26 year-old Caboolture man, died at the scene.
Yesterday afternoon, police found the Ranger at a business in Narangba…a local man is assisting police with their enquiries.
The driver of the Isuzu, a 46-year-old Redcliffe man, remains in hospital in a critical condition and police haven’t been able to interview him yet.
Detective Inspector David Harbison said the incident has been declared a major crime.
He wouldn’t confirm reports the Isuzu truck had been used at a break-in at a wrecking yard before being involved in the chase.
It’s believed police are investigating if the truck was being pursued by vigilantes who found it at their business on the night of the fatal crash.
Investigators are continuing their appeal for anyone who may have seen the Isuzu or other vehicles in the moments before the crash, and anyone who has relevant dashcam vision, to come forward.
