A big crowd has turned out at the Coolum Beach Hotel the last two mornings to watch local snowboarding star Meila Stalker compete at the Games in Italy.
22 year-old Stalker finished in 10th place in this morning’s final of the women’s snowboard “big air” competition in her Olympic debut.
Pub manager Shane Berger says he’s super proud of Meila who still drops in from time to time to do a shift at the popular watering hole.
He said it isn’t as often these days as she’s touring the world competing.
Mr Berger said he had a tear in his eye when she was selected in the Australian team and is super proud of her performance.
Stalker is now focused on the snowboard slopestyle competition which starts at 7.30pm on Monday Queensland time.
