Four rescued from ocean after boat incident

Four people were rescued from their upturned boat off Inskip Point on the weekend.

The seven metre boat was hit by a wave and capsized on Saturday morning.

The Lifeflight rescue chopper found the four people sitting on top of the overturned boat around five kilometres offshore.

They were winched into the chopper.

A teenage girl suffered a minor shoulder injury, a woman in her 20s had an ankle injury and two men weren’t hurt.

They were all flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
