A busy and very wet night for local emergency crews.
Swift water rescuers were called to help three people trapped on the roof of their car in a flooded creek at Belli Park west of Eumundi around 9.15pm.
By then the trio were found clinging to a tree.
About the same time crews used a flood boat to help a person stuck on the roof of a tractor at the same swollen creek along Naranga Road.
Paramedics weren’t required to treat anyone
Meanwhile, the storms brought drenching rain throughout the region and caused power outages in some areas.
The heaviest rain fell in a band from around Pomona to Palmwoods, with the action kicking off from mid afternoon yesterday.
Some spots, including Nambour, have picked up more than a third of the average March rain in a day, recording 138 millimetres.
Standout rainfall figures include Mapleton with 219 mils, 224 at West Woombye and 250 mils at Poona Dam.
Showers and storms will continue around the coast today, although conditions should ease throughout the day.
