Wuthering Heights Movement Experience Gympie Mooloo Farm
Gympie’s Sue Kirkpatrick, Leaha Hosking, and Paulene Rogers have joined forces to create some magic through movement, inviting you to find your inner whimsy and twirl to Kate Bush’s iconic song, Wuthering Heights. The global tradition of The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever began in 2013 by Shambush in the UK. People come together to reenact Kate Bush’s 1978 iconic music video and honour her shared birthday with Emily Brontë of 30th July. Inspired by a similar event last year in Lennox Head, Sue, Leaha, and Paulene have drawn upon their diverse backgrounds in the health sector, movement education, and community advocacy to craft an experience that fosters health, connection, and joy. The trio hosts regular practices in the lead-up to a culminating get-together on Sunday 26th July at Mooloo Farm on the outskirts of Gympie. Proceeds from this morning directly support two vital local organisations: Little Haven Palliative Care Inc. and Supporting Chemotherapy in Cooloola Inc. Sue, Leaha, and Paulene are grateful to Noel and Debbie Granshaw for helping their vision come to reality by providing Mooloo Farm as a stunning backdrop, with unique splashes of red twirling amongst the rolling green hills and vibrant yellow sunflowers on Sunday 26th July. The next practice is on 5th July and an online tutorial is available as a guide. The goal isn’t perfection of the dance moves; it’s vibrant diversity, embracing your own creative flair, and, most importantly, having fun. Whether you want to dance or simply embrace the spirit from the sidelines, everyone is welcome to join these mornings of connection, laughter and shared joy in the heart of our beautiful region.
