This is the first of 10 Free family film nights in Rainbow Beach Community Hall run by Community Information and Resource Service (CIRS) and funded by Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal. We were able to buy a big 6m x 4m screen and a rear projector. Each month a local community group gets to host a free film night – there’s no entry charge but they can sell popcorn, icecreams, drinks and hot dogs to raise funds. They also get 5 minutes to promote their group. CIRS are hosting the first CoolaFlix film night on Saturday 8 July. Doors open from 5pm , film starts at 6pm. Mavka is an animated feature film (1hr 39min) based on a Ukrainian folktale and made in Ukraine but is in English. It’s rated PG and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
