Local Acts Revealed for Historic AFL Grand Final 2020

The 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final entertainment acts have been announced and this year it’s an all Australian local line-up!

For the first time in history, the Grand Final will be played outside of Victoria and held at the Gabba on October 24th.

The entertainment for this year will include rising rock band DMA’s, Brisbane pop group Cub Sport and Andrew Stockdale (lead singer of Wolfmother).

In response to the announcement, DMA’s band member Johnny said the following on Twitter:

"Hey it’s Johnny from DMA’s and we’re playing the AFL Grand Final this year. We’re stoked to be a part of it, ‘cause 2020’s been particularly crazy with the pandemic and AFL football in general is such a great thing to bring people together. Just a quick shout out to people in Melbourne and the greater Victoria region, we know you’re doing it tough but hopefully you enjoy the day October 24th, see you there."

Brisbane band Sheppard is also performing, as well as Electric Fields featuring Thelma Plum and Busby Marou with a special performance from The Queensland Symphony Orchestra. The Australian line-up will perform across pre-game and half-time slots with Sheppard taking the stage at half-time.

Kylie Rogers, AFL’s General Manager of Commercial says:

"On the back of an All-Australian line-up at last year’s Grand Final we know there is incredible support to bring together local talent again this year.”

Mike Brady will also perform ‘Up There Cazaly’ from the MCG and be streamed into the Gabba during the night.
